Diamanti Milk Chocolate Strawberry Port Wine Kit Review

Strawberry Port Wine Kit

When I originally purchased the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit, I was under the impression that it was manufactured by PakLab, like the Vino Italiano Wine Kits.  PakLab manufactures a number of kits sold on Amazon under different names, like Vino Italiano, Reserve Du Chateau and a few others.    Upon opening the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit, it was obvious this kit was not from the same company.   The PakLab wine kits come with corks, labels and excellent directions, the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit did not.

The Diamanti Milk Choclolate Strawberry Port Wine Kit could be found HERE.

I have been making the Winexpert Chocolate Raspberry port for a while, so when I saw this Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit on Amazon for a very attractive price, I thought that it was worth giving it a try. Like the PakLab wine kits, this kit also can make an excellent wine. While I made a  very delicious wine from this kit, I do have a some constructive criticism for it.

Most wine kits do not come with corks.  The PakLab kits are the only ones that do.  So, I am fine with the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit not having any corks included.   The directions, however, were very poor.   In my opinion, there is no excuse for poor directions in a wine kit.   It is a shame, because the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit makes an excellent wine that is similar in quality to the Chocolate Raspberry Port, from Winexpert, at about $50 less in price.

The poor directions were not a problem for me, as I have made so many wine kits before.   So, I kind of used my intuition and made it despite the directions.   In fact, I actually lost the directions as I was making the wine, but I didn’t really care much that I did.

You can watch me make the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit in this video series.   I explain all of the steps I took to make this delicious wine.

One of the things to note about making a port wine kit for all manufacturers is that the juice that is supplied is not concentrate that needs water added to it.  They provide the juice that you will need to make the wine and you use it as it is, without adding water.  Another thing that confuses people is that the port wine kits make only three gallons, as opposed to most other wine kits that make six (or five, if you read my modifications for the vino italiano).

Another thing to consider when making the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit is that you may want to either buy two of them, or buy a three gallon carboy.    Think about it.   If port wine kits make only three gallons and you have a six gallon carboy, what can you do to minimize the airspace in the carboy?

Buying two of these Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kits would make using the six gallon carboy work fine and provide you with 60 375ml bottles of wine.   I purchased one kit and used my 3 gallon carboys, since I never tried this kit before and wanted to try it out before investing in two kits.    Next time, I will get two Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kits, since I know that I got excellent results with it.

I am confident that if you look at the video series that I a made and do the same things that I have, you will have excellent results with the Diamanti milk chocolate strawberry port wine kit.   This wine was a big hit with my friends and family over the holidays.    If you want this for the holidays, start it in July or August.  It will be fine by the time the winter holidays come.
