All In One Wine Pump Review

The All In One Wine Kit
The All In One Wine Pump with all related hoses and attachments

Steve Helsper is the creator of the All In One Wine Pump. This product is perhaps the very best wine making product I have ever purchased. The name is very accurate in that you can do just about everything with this amazing vacuum based wine pump.

Now in the past I had built a wine pump that I have posted about on this website. While that wine pump works perfectly fine, I never use it anymore because Steve’s pump is much better. It can’t be beat for the price, as it cost me more to make my own than just buying this one. Which I ultimately did anyway.

This nifty little device is so easy to use and it is designed with color coded plug and play functionality. It is light weight and so much more quiet than the one I built previously. It does not require the messy oil changes that I had to do with my homemade pump, nor does it have that smell when running. Setting up the All In One Wine Pump is as easy as plugging Red into Red, Blue into Blue and flipping on the power switch.

An empty wine bottle is used as overflow protection. This is great because you always have an extra bottle and it sits in the unit in a designated location. This protects overflowing wine from entering the pump.

When running the All In One Wine Pump, it is about half the volume of other pumps, so my ears also appreciate it. It transfers the wine quickly and efficiently. One of the best things about this vacuum pump is not having to lift up heavy carboys of wine in order to rack. The money saved in chiropractor bill makes it pay for itself very quickly.

But racking is not the only thing you can do with this. You can add a filter in line and have it filter your wine WHILE racking. This means I can smack my Buon Vino Mini Jet with a baseball bat a few hundred times to punish it all the wine spilled all over the place . Really, not having to ever use the Buon Vino again is perhaps one of the greatest benefits…. Read these words carefully: I have used the All In One Wine Pump for a few years now exclusively and…. I HAVE NEVER SPILLED A DROP OF WINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also found the All In One Wine Pump is great for degassing while racking wine from one carboy to the other. This helps so much, as trying to get rid of fizziness in wine can be a challenge. The vacuum gently pulls the CO2 from the wine as it is being pulled through the hoses. There is a great little button in the hose that you can press to easily release the vacuum pressure when needed too.

Another place the All In One Wine Pump shines is in bottling. It actually makes bottling almost fun! It fills the wine to the perfect level in the bottle once you get the hang of how to use it. It is so much better than the Ferrari Automatic Bottle Filler. Forget about it….

So to list the benefits:

  • It is relatively quiet for a vacuum wine pump
  • It looks really cool
  • It is light weight and easy to set up
  • All hose connections are color coded
  • It degasses while racking wine
  • You no longer have to lift heavy carboys for gravity based siphoning, saving your back
  • You can add a filter to the tubing to make it a wine filter too…
    • You get the added joy of kicking and smacking up your Piece Of Cr@p Mini Jet for the pain it caused you. Be sure to wear steel toed boots while doing so.
  • Bottling is easy where each bottle is filled to the perfect level…. AND you get the last bit of degassing while bottling too!
    • You can throw your Ferrari bottle filler away for good, or perhaps throw it at your Mini-Jet.

For bottling with the All In One Wine Pump, I put all of my sanitized wine bottles an put them in a milk crate…. Then, I put my whole milk crate in the sink. The carboy is on the floor with the racking cane connected to the pump that is fitted with the bottling attachment. After the bottle is a little above fill, you press the little button on the tube to release the vacuum…. the over filled wine quickly siphons back into the carboy, leaving a perfectly filled bottle. Easy Peasy.

Now if the thing only washed and de-labeled bottles automatically while I am sitting in my hammock, it would be perfect.

Seriously, some times I lift up carboys and rack without the All In One Wine Pump. Why, you may ask? Because it helps me to remember how things used to be before I bought it. Really, if you get one and use it for a few months, try to do things they way you used to without it… Lifting heavy carboys and siphoning.. You will really appreciate it for the treasure that it is….

Steve is a genius… Nothing else to say. Just buy it…. Here is a link to his website

Note: I am NOT an affiliate of this products and this is not a paid review. This is the best product I have found and Steve is an awesome guy. Once you get this I promise you that you will be like, “Where was this thing my whole wine making life?”

For those wondering what my second most favorite wine making equipment is, that would be my floor corker.

Cheers Folks!
